Primary Care Therapist (Neighbourhood Team Manager)

This is the opportunity to play a key role in the development of the Healthy Minds Network. As well as helping to implement new ways of working, you’ll benefit from excellent training, including the chance to learn PC-MIS, our new client record system.

Day-to-day, you’ll focus on providing CBT/evidenced-based psychological therapy. You’ll also take part in a duty manager rota to ensure effective management of access to clinical interventions following GP referral. In addition, you’ll provide clinical supervision for case managers and graduate mental health workers. And, it’ll also be up to you to liaise closely with GPs and other members of the primary healthcare team, ensuring the service is meeting their needs.

To succeed, you’ll need to be a qualified accreditable practitioner with a background in a relevant professional field, and experience of high intensity casework. On top of that, you’ll have the skills to provide effective clinical supervision, plus experience of interagency and multidisciplinary working.

Playing an overarching role, you’ll make a major contribution to the development, management and profiling of this showcase service. It’s a high-profile challenge for a skilled operations manager – someone who can manage the contract with the primary care trust, maintain effective relations with a range of local agencies, and ensure effective integration between primary and secondary care services.

This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape the future of this programme as it’s rolled out across the country. To take advantage of it, you’ll need some general knowledge of evidence-based psychological practices and, ideally, you’ll also have experience of coordinating mental health services.

Support, Time & Recovery Workers

Whether you’re focusing on community engagement or working with older people, you can expect fantastic support and training, as well as the freedom to help develop the nature of the interventions we use. In both roles, you’ll focus on providing brief interventions for people with mild to moderate mental health problems, including group-based interventions.

As our employment coach, you’ll help deliver a ‘Confidence to Work’ programme. This will involve supporting the delivery of psycho-education groups to help people develop the skills and confidence to return to work. It’s a key challenge that will see you liaising with local community mental health teams. You’ll also provide employers with advice on mental health awareness issues.

Alternatively, as our link worker for older people, you’ll provide a range of appropriate resources and services, enabling people to improve the quality of their lives.

To succeed in either of these roles, you’ll need experience in your area of interest. It’s also crucial that you’re a strong team player with good communication skills.

Low Intensity Primary Care Case Worker /

Graduate Mental Health Worker – ref: CN/3618

If you’re looking for the perfect way to develop your career, this is it. It’s the chance to benefit from all the support and opportunities that come with being part of the government’s new Improving Access to Psychological Therapies programme. If you have what it takes, it could be the perfect stepping stone to becoming a case worker.

A member of the Healthy Minds Network team, you’ll provide brief psychological and health advocacy interventions for people referred by their GP. Essentially, this means you’ll be there to listen to people, understand their issues, and offer practical support and life choices. You’ll also work closely with colleagues to assess the best course of action.

Join us and you’ll have a comprehensive training programme which will provide you with the skills and confidence you’ll need to carry out this role. It’s important that you’re a good listener and communicator with a genuine commitment to helping others. While it’s likely you’re already working in a customer-focused role, it needn’t be in health or social care. You might have valuable local knowledge or transferable skills from another industry or sector.
